Minutes of Madness - 03

I was just thinking “C’mon guys we are in 21st century where gender is nothing except for filling out the checkbox in an application and this guy is still in 1970s.” But to my astonishment no one was reacting much to that and everyone listened as though they would follow! Who knows they may follow!

My college life started the same day by 2:00 PM. My mom and dad just waited for me to get that kit (Mini-Drafter, Instrument box, blah... blah... blah..!). They called 5 in a batch for a short walk to some 5-7 rooms apart to get them. There was much of people walking in the corridors and couldn’t find which 4 are coming with me. Finally reached my destination and found that crowd remained same. So, I was waiting, in fact just watching and commenting within those who were before me. The lady in that room called out,
“44…”

Nah… A boy to start with! Little allergic! Nexttt…

“45…”

A girl, But still ‘Naaahhh’...

“46…”

Better than earlier!

“47…”

She was not a dumbstruck kind of thing. But I couldn’t stop staring her. Her not so long-curly hair that swings as she moved across, her tiny fingers and fragile arms that slipped a note or two while receiving the complete kit, her forehead without any streak or spot raising many questions within me, her little long thumb finger at the end of a bangle less plain hand made me think she would have got an illegible handwriting, a little large toe nail which was improperly cut with stroppy polish, a small dark brown patch in her right cheek which could be an effect of heat bubble and finally eyes which showed she was calm and little low in confidence but had a little grey spot in the right eye which was awkward at the first shot but turned awesome within seconds!

I felt like breaking the rule which was imposed on me just an hour before. But my inner instincts were clear and don’t want to attend an enquiry the very first day. Most of you would have guessed her name by now, still it took 25 more minutes for me to find and confirm it that day – Aaradhana.

Minute of Madness!
